During the opening session of the congress on Friday, Abiy highlighted the PP’s role in driving economic transformation and fostering political inclusivity. He emphasised the party’s leadership in enacting political and economic reforms and stressed that innovation and engagement remain crucial in addressing Ethiopia’s longstanding challenges.
Abiy also highlighted the significance of the congress as an opportunity to evaluate progress, develop new strategies, and elect capable leaders to guide the party forward.
The Prosperity Party, formed in 2019 as a successor to the Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF), has positioned itself as a force for modernisation and national unity amid ongoing political and economic challenges in the country.
